How to Track Your S&Box Portfolio: Complete Guide

Published April 13, 2026

If you buy and sell S&Box items on the Steam Community Market, you need a way to track what you own, what you paid, and whether you're making or losing money. That's exactly what S&Box Tracker does — and it's free.

This guide walks you through setting up your account and tracking your first portfolio in under 2 minutes.

Step 1: Sign In with Steam

Visit sbox-tracker.com/login and click "Sign in through Steam." You'll be redirected to Steam's official login page. No password is shared with us — we use Steam's OpenID 2.0 authentication, which only gives us your public profile (display name, avatar, and Steam ID).

After signing in, you're redirected to your dashboard. It'll be empty — time to create your first portfolio.

Step 2: Create a Portfolio

Click "Create Portfolio"in the left sidebar (or the button on the dashboard). Give it a name — for example, "Main Portfolio" or "Trading Account." Pick a color to distinguish it from other portfolios.

Free users can create up to 3 portfolios. Premium users get up to 10. Use multiple portfolios to separate strategies — one for long-term holds, one for short-term trades, etc.

Step 3: Add Your Transactions

Open your portfolio and click the "+ Transaction" button in the header. The transaction dialog appears:

  1. Buy or Sell — toggle between the two at the top
  2. Search for an item — start typing any S&Box item name. The search is instant — all 72 items are pre-loaded with icons.
  3. Enter the price — what you paid (buy) or received (sell) per unit, in USD
  4. Enter the quantity — how many you bought/sold
  5. Pick the date — when the transaction happened (defaults to today)
  6. Optional note— add context like "bought the dip" or "panic sold"

Click "Add Purchase"(or "Add Sale"). The app immediately fetches the current market price for that item and updates your P&L.

You can also add transactions directly from the Holdings tab — each item row has Buy and Sell buttons that pre-fill the item name.

Step 4: Monitor Your Portfolio

Your portfolio page shows everything at a glance:

  • Summary cards — total value, amount invested, unrealized P&L, and realized P&L
  • Portfolio value chart— see how your portfolio's total value changes over time (7-day and 30-day views for free users; all periods for Premium)
  • Allocation pie chart — visualize how your portfolio is distributed across items
  • Holdings table — every item with quantity, average buy price, current price, unrealized P&L, and realized P&L. Click any item to expand a per-item price chart.
  • Transaction history — full log of all buys and sells
  • Top earners / top losers — which items are driving gains or losses

Step 5: Browse the Market

Visit the Market page to see all 72 S&Box items with live prices, 24-hour changes, top gainers, top losers, and most traded. Click any item to see its price history chart and detailed market data.

Free vs. Premium

S&Box Tracker is free to use with 3 portfolios, 15-minute price updates, and 30-day chart history. For $3.99/month, Premium unlocks 10 portfolios, 5-minute updates, all chart periods, CSV export, up to 20 price alerts, and removes ads.
